    Contrasts

There's been a lot of doom and gloom on Outlaws over the summer (and I think some of it justified), but it was so good to be among 3500 joyful and positive Hatters yesterday.

We`ve played one decent half of football in 2 games but won both of them. I liked the look of Yates yesterday especially given he is lacking match sharpness. Looked a lot better when we went ore 4 at the back

Yes we definitely looked better in the 2nd half, MB made good use of the substitutes. Hope he plays a strong team at Coventry to push the momentum on.

He's already stayed that McGuinness will be playing. Given the strength of the squad it doesn't really matter who we put out as it will be a relatively strong side and an opportunity to get competitive minutes into some players. And for that reason in itself is enough to try and make sure we progress in the competition.

Two pieces of the jigsaw still to get.

Better quality down the left and additional striker to provide competition.

But if you keep winning you have happy fans.

Three horse race for top two spots, we must invest the money over coming couple of weeks to ensure we are one of them.

Stockport have beaten two teams who are better than we have beaten. I am sure MB is well aware and is working on deals and also the exits for Holmes and Nordas etc to give them game time elsewhere.

Nonsense. There will be other teams that you wouldn't expect up there. That's usually the case.
I'd also argue that its both full back positions that need strengthening, not just the left.

              I agree.

Although they will probably end up second, Rangers are currently sixth in a two (one?) horse race.

Absolutely I will probably be wrong but at this stage it’s how I would see it.

Huddersfield, Stockport and LTFC will all reach 80 points.

It’s the two who can finish just over 90 points who will be automatically promoted.

We've been allocated 1167, I'd think these will all sell, but apparently the away "end" hold 1600. For some reason I've never been to Valley Parade, so looking forward to next Saturday.

I think the 1167 is an initial allocation. Must say I'm tempted to go to VP again. Already been 3 times watching us in league cup, fa cup, and the league. Must be 20 years since I last went though and all 3x we were in the behind the goal stand. First time, in the second leg of the league cup in 1990 (I think), it was still a terrace. We lost in a penalty shoot out down our end. We won both other times - mental scenes when we won in the fa cup game as Bradford were the division above at the time.

I've been five times (three wins and two draws although, as you say, we lost on penalties after one of the drawn games - Dowie was the only one of the ten takers to miss).

We were down the side last time which is where we are this year. The stand that we used to be in isn't usually used nowadays, I believe.

Negatives: we haven’t played very well. We don’t create much.

Positives: defense is solid. We have won both games.

This is a good foundation to build on and it’s comforting to hear the second half yesterday was better.

I like it. Only about 20 min walk from the station, even though we're down the side, it's quite a steep stand so a good view. Old school feel to it outside with little back streets etc. And reasonably priced beer in the ground, which is nice.

Yes. Get to Forster Square directly and quickly from Leeds and has fairly decent reliable trains on it. Bradford Interchange, however, still isn't electrified and is better for local connections to the delights of Halifax, Huddersfield, etc.
