Paris holibobs

Just back from a week in Paris. I was expecting a city overrun with immigrants (legal and illegal) and general filth and rubbish. It was my first visit in about 10 years. I was stunned. Beautiful, streets so clean you couldn't find a single piece of rubbish. Every cafe and restaurant bustling with white French waiters and waitresses. Not a rude person , French or otherwise in sight. Went to every tourist spot you could think of (7 days perfect for that) and every experience was first class. I used to think London was my fav city, followed by Dublin but not anymore . The French have got their act together.

I haven't been for years but it was a great city to visit and the French are not rude and unhelpful as some would have you believe

I had to find a place that turned out to be a box address.i asked a road sweeper driver and he took me straight to it.
Then it turned out to be several junctions of the periferique further on
Very helpful fellowLegend

Litter is everywhere. The problem is we don’t keep our streets clean in the UK.

Paris has its dark side with Romany and African poor areas, but centrally it's very nice. I have been many times tourist or business.
Watching the Paris marathon clean up was a military exercise very impressive .
It's my fave city to be honest Mrs J didn't like it.Legend

Paris is a lovely city apart from thieving pick pockets, people I've travelled with have been done twice in 3 visits despite being vigilant for 99% of the time, but same in every big city

We didn't go on the metro once so maybe avoided that. Uber was just so easy and prices were OK. I used to hate the idea of Uber but after this holibobs I'm a convert. Only downloaded the app prior to arriving so defo late to the game. Also, why didn't I know that Paris in Summer was so quiet compared to other times like Easter which was my last visit ages ago.
