Is there any way you can do these comms for those of us who aren't on Facebook/x etc (and have no intentions of doing so)?

      Always sound interesting.

      Cuneiform - the way forward.

What else is there? Let me know and we'll look into setting it up.

I get the arguments against FB but you're missing out on so much - up to 80 photos of some games plus player profiles, kits, the grounds, the fans etc.

I went on Facebook for three weeks and got death threats from Bushwood/EDL types. Fuck that for a game of (model!) soldiers. It's intrusive and ill-administered.

Maybe just publish the articles on the website and alert people via the usual channels?

A mate was similarly set upon. He now uses an alias and just follows his favourite things - he makes rare comments and has no friends. Insert usual Crumpy joke here - I see you as Cornelius Flintwinch or Horatio Swizzleminter.

I think I'd go for the latter.

Flintwinch was a devious bugger in Little Dorrit (what a great book that is!)

I have a Flouncebook account which isn't in my real name. I only use it for vouchers and competitions. I regularly get friend suggestions for people that they should have no way of associating with me.

I got one for the girlfriend of a former client who emigrated over twenty years ago. I have not been in contact with him since he moved and he wasn't with her then - he only met her over there.

A few months ago, I took on a new client. Within a couple of weeks, she was a friend suggestion four times.

Several posters on here have come up as friend suggestions including some that I only know of through Outlaws.

I have never rung the first one that I mentioned and don't recall giving a phone number when setting up the account. Also, I haven't rung some of the posters on here who have been suggested as friends.

You (plus pooch) have come up as a suggestion more than once in the past.

That's likely phone number related .

I have several followers who my account picked up due to phone links

I only ever speak to you on my mobile whereas I only ever speak to the client on the office landline. I'm not aware that I have ever posted either in connection with FB.

I would think that email address is more likely than phone numbers but I have had suggestions for people on here who I have no email or telephone contact with and, to the best of my knowledge, I have never actually met or spoken to.

And therefore a good reason not to bother with it. Very intrusive.

We are looking at reorganising the website - we could add the FB posts to a section in the "Long and short reads" sections. "Light Bites" maybe?
