Very optimistic

For the first time in three seasons we have a very solid defence that looks like it has very few mistakes in it. Previously we have given goals away so easily . Over the top, misplaced pass, beaten for pace etc.... With that in place we have time and the payers to get our best outlet sorted and bossing games. I think we will get better and better as the season ticks along. We will be top at Christmas and maybe by a decent amount of points.

Peterborough's pace up front will be interesting - Keeley could be key as sweeper. Mr J.C. Lomax having been called upon to give his opinion upon the proposed formation of a Town Club, said he was most emphatically in favour of a proposed Luton Town Football Club - 11th April 1885

Watching Stockport-Bolton now and watched Huddersfield against Leyton Orient yesterday and there is so much more creativity and speed in these games than in ours. I’m a little worried. Wimbledon had three straight friendlies without scoring before our game and will probably fight for survival, and we barely beat them at home in a game that had goalless draw written all over it. I was really optimistic before this game though and preseason was so much better than last year.

Spit on thought Stockport & Bolton both have pace and power. Can see us lacking a goal threat for the first few months. Made even worse by the fact set plays are so important in this league, and when you're struggling in open play that's where lots of your goals come from. And with Doughty & Morris gone, who is going to cross and head then in ?!!
