Interesting match report for the Southampton game. Not only did they get the Luton scorer wrong, it said Paul “Fletcher” came on as sub. The other report gave the attendance as “8,445 including a small number of louts”. I wonder if any of those louts currently post on this board?“Control the controllables”
It was Saints fans in the Oak Road that caused the problems. There are photos but I've censored them due to very troubling images - long greasy hair, Lionels, tank tops, platform shoes etc. Mr J.C. Lomax having been called upon to give his opinion upon the proposed formation of a Town Club, said he was most emphatically in favour of a proposed Luton Town Football Club - 11th April 1885
Am I right in saying that the pictures have been put up on here before and that a young lady walking along the Enclosure touchline was named?
Anyway - if the pictures are showing high waisters, mutton chop sideburns and platform shoes then they SHOULD be posted on here - if for nothing more than to serve as a reminder…
Yes, can't find them atm so Crumps in the early 1930's Oak Road will have to do.

He was a cool calm Rolls Royce type player from the off - on those boggy pitches that was rare. Mr J.C. Lomax having been called upon to give his opinion upon the proposed formation of a Town Club, said he was most emphatically in favour of a proposed Luton Town Football Club - 11th April 1885
He read the game, great positioning, strong in a tackle, but when he had the ball he was silky, always seemed to have loads of time, and rarely made a stray pass.
He gave me the same joy watching him as Barkley did in the Premier, a privilege to have seen them play for us.
