I see Tom L reckons he is 4 weeks away from a return to football. Will we resign him or will he be off. Surely got to be a coaching /player role for him within LTFC

Didnt MB basically say he is our captain of the club but on pitch Naismith will be because Tom is unavailable.

Seems to suggest he is wanted at the club still if he is available and at the level he needs to be at after not playing football for so long

Bloomfield said Lockyer is still the club captain.

The thing is, after what he's been through he'll want to be playing and not waste time on the bench. Given how many centre backs we have it will take a long time until his match fitness and regained ability are trusted enough to keep a McGuinness or Makosso out of the team. So it might suit him more to go somewhere where he can be the main man straightaway.

My guess is he'll have a season in League Two or Conference, absolutely storm it, and then get signed by a top end League One or maybe even Championship club next season. Maybe even us!

We already have 7-8 CBs though. A few would need to leave and I doubt he’ll be first team ready until towards the end of the year anyway

It might be worth keeping squad space free for him. I believe he may still be on the payroll albeit month to month

Interestingly he is on the squad page - which is bang up to date

Why u think the number 4 is still available it won't go to that new left back we signed

Locks is technically out of contract but still attached to the club doing his rehab therefore I would imagine he is getting something off the books perhaps.

If he signs a contract proper it will be hard to try and move at least 3 defenders on

Tom Lockyer is on a rolling one month contract.
