I said to the guy who sits next to me before the game that it would be a boring game and so it turned out. AFC defended their way out of league 2 and we’ve looked solid in pre season but lacked creativity and so it proved. Thought we defended really well and didn’t do our usual fuck up to gift the opponents a goal which is a good base. Set piece delivery was woeful, that really needs to improve. The LWB will help enormously because with Nige turning inside all the it time negated width on that side (and it will be harsh on Nige who looks a tidy player, we really do have some outstanding CBs for this level). Hopefully it will click and we’ll start looking slicker, good base to start from though

It was a very tough watch but you could have predicted that when the line-up's were revealed. Bloomfield's selection was clearly based around keeping it as tight as possible.
At the moment our strength is definitely in defence so I'm expecting a lot more games like that this season. Wigan on a Tuesday night is not making me giddy with excitement.

Was there anything said as to where Nordas and Richards were in the post match interviews?

Nordas is a bizarre one, especially with our northern correspondat tipping him to do well this season.
In fairness, we didn’t ever look in any danger of conceding, and play badly and win I’d what gets teams promoted.

Why we play 3 Centre halves and a holding midfielder at home against Wimbledon is beyond me. It was a tough watch not much quality anywhere on the pitch. For me the game changed when Baptiste came on. A win is a win but I doubt we'll play a less gifted team all season they offered absolutely nothing. A better opponent and we lose playing like that again.
