Why don’t you think he’s going to be first choice?
29 and over 80 games in the championship - fast and good crosser of the ball. In general Pompey and Rotherham fans seem to rate him.
Also JJ is far more likely a left-sided CB than a LWB.

You’ve answered your own question. If Johnson is more of a LCB - and I’d agree that’s where he’s looked best on the admittedly relatively few games so far - then we don’t have any LBs at all. Bramall solves that. Whether he’s intended to be first-choice or becomes that despite a (so far putative) second new LB, let’s see.

Well knowing nothing about him apart from his wiki page..
Not the worst signing in the world on paper The fact he hasn't cost anything more than a signing on fee means that when JJ gets back to fitness there is no "fee" barrier to prevent them having a battle for that spot.

Good signing - think we will benefit from experience down that flank and got him at a good age. In a way Im glad we arent signing youth, when we have talent here in their early 20's already and hopefully means they will get a chance too.

We needed left sided players with experience and expecting him to start at LB/LWB in a couple of weeks but he appears to be L1 level at best. Played championship but for Rotherham so relegation end. Seems a stop-gap signing.

Actually it's not a negative comment at all. I don't think many people want Alli starting as a fucking lwb when it's clear Alli is best attacking, not defending, so JD is correct saying we don't want Alli wasted there. And we do need a left footer. JD might be a miserable old fucker most of the time but he's spot on with this comment.

No not that comment being negative - Im talking to JD not saying his comment is neg. The ones on here saying hes a nobody or a castoff, just daft hes not kicked a ball. He was good enough to get a Champ contract in Jan and play 12 games for Pompey - who finished above us and their form was solid during the same time he signed. Same was said about Bell when we signed him, including Blackburn fans who said they'd drive him down to us! ;-)
