Al-Hamadi and Langstaff
Posted by Cuba on 29/7/2025, 22:23:29
Al-Hamadi started and scored for Ipswich (again) this evening.
Langstaff got a first half hat-trick, Alfie assisting one of the goals.
Assuming Lowe is still not happening it seems increasingly unlikely that either of the above will either*.
*had we been interested of course
Quite who we are considering as our marquee signing up front remains of great interest.
Also as much as an applaud the news about the free access press conference I am curious as to why it was held today, almost suggests that incoming business for this week is done. (There will be none and we appeared to know that on Saturday evening too)
I just wonder what else is holding these incomings up, what are we waiting for?
You do know the LTFC don’t necessarily announce signings even when they have already made them? 😉There’s not much room for many more ( maybe 2 max) at the moment without someone going out?
"Quite who we are considering as our marquee signing up front remains of great interest."
Why do you assume that we are chasing a marquee signing up front? I am seriously starting to wonder if we are going to settle for what we have atm and wait for Adebayo's return.
no idea, has there been any kind of official announcement about his progress? Just the usual conjecture dressed up as facts from the usual suspects.
As my original point, looking at who we have atm I can see the club settling with what we have and waiting for players to return whether short, medium or long term.
I agree we might well end up settling for what we have up front. Was just saying I don't think they're expecting Eli to feature this season. I believe at the time it was said he'd be out for 12 months or so.
yeah all true but didnt stop us not recruiting for a Alfie replacement even though pretty much everyone knew he was going.
We currently have 3 fit fwds, with Brown to return sooner rather than later, then Adebayo. Even though I think it would be a mistake not to strengthen in that position I can also see the club "making do" for the time being.
Tomorrow (well, today now) is their day off - I assume that it's "a bigger story" as it's the opening game of the whole season so Sky (and others) probably want more "lead time" to use footage.
Perhaps MB expects to be so busy dealing with incoming transfers on Thursday that he doesn't want any interruptions that might stop them signing in time to play on Friday

They're waiting for the new 3rd kit to be available to launch ch it with the new signings, obviously.
