The only surprise is that that's the only one in that three month period.

Good move, not playing on the last Saturday before Christmas.
Was that ever really a thing, attendances were lower because men went shopping?

All Gary's fault!
Sure the social media bedwetters will find some way to blame him

The “There’s nothing wrong with 2020” brigade are just as tedious, in fairness.

On your Bluesky bio you said you supported Wealdstone and Chelsea. I'm really hoping I'm following the wrong fellow.

You are. The other John Earls was also a music journalist, for Melody Maker, but is now a Unite official. So no, that’s not my Bluesky bio.

Has anyone ever actually claimed 'there's nothing wrong'?
There transparently was last season.

There are posts today - Forever Hatter’s above, those calling critics “piss-stained knicker-wetters”, JinC’s relentless routine etc - which imply that critics should shut up and be grateful. Of course some of it is out of order. But whatever happens on social media is - wafts hand airily - over there. On Outlaws alone? Not much, and the OTT stuff is generally counter-balanced by those who are (imo) just as myopically seeking to shut down any criticism. That nonsense with Mike Collings instantly cancelled out the improvements in communication and does a lot of harm in building up goodwill. There was literally no need for it. The lack of spending before the season when there is a transfer surplus is a concern: I’d hoped we weren’t going to rely on the same “slow starters” narrative. The new kit is once again a farce. There are positives, of course: Keeley, other players brought in. But there are (again imo) valid concerns over repeating a lot recent mistakes. Without it getting personal at Sweet, I think many of the questions being posed are valid. Not least, as a champion (rightly so) of LTST, why is someone as even-handed as Kev Harper on the naughty step?

If you suggest that not absolutely everything is wrong then absolutely everything must be absolutely fine.
There is no room for people who appreciate that a decent amount of the genuine criticism is valid but that a lot of the brainless pile-on is thick c>unts being gobshites.

And me. Lost 3-0 after we absolutely bossed the game I thought. A couple of buses ferrying Luton fans from the station to the ground were trashed if I remember correctly.
We won 2-1 there the following season, I was at that one too. Liam George scored at least one of the goals.
