Than Millwall? Mind you he was very mediocre last year. Too fat & unfit ? Yet another player leaving who contributed to our relegation deciding he’s too good for Div 1 .
I think Millwall will be pushing for Play-offs this season. They remind me of us 3/4 years ago. Club on the up, with a decent manager and building a very good Championship squad. IMO, a very good move for Alfie who has clearly has aspirations to get back to the Prem.
I didn't think he was 'mediocre' last year. Most of our attacking play came though him and he was badly missed when injured.
He's really not that great is he? Maybe he had a purple patch - a bit like Mengi and suddenly he is world class? I recall that when Baptiste, Walsh and Clarke were doing set pieces we looked better. Doughty is okay don't get me wrong but I would say a mid table Championship club (and Millwall did okay last season) is not a million miles below his level
He's been ok for us overall but I'm not shedding any tears over his departure. He had an exceptional season when he first joined as did most of the squad which is why we gained promotion. But he often looked unfit and his set pieces became so predictable.
