That figure of £3m makes no sense, his age, contract length and stats put him at £5M min. It’s going to cost us around £2M to get a quality replacement. It’s horseshit.
If it is worth spunking £2.5m on Nordas, then surely Doughty is worth double that even on the evidence of last year. Get him fit and he is a very good player.
It always feels like we play way too nicely IMO.

You might be eating those words soon, mate. Nordås is very young at 23 and already knows where the goal is. At 6ft 4in he’ll be a pain for defenders in L1.
Hmm, sounds a bit low, I would have thought. Harrison Burrows went from Peterborough to Sheff U for £3m with add-ons on top of that. And he'd never kicked a ball outside of League One.
An injury prone player who has been relegated two season in a row and last made a dangerous cross 2 years ago. And his reputation lead to the ridiculous situation where he was taking EVERY free kick and corner which is just stupid (not his fault though).

I’ve really enjoyed ADs time at the club and he has been a good player for us. Would I be that gutted if he left? No.
I hate to remind you how dramatically we've fallen as a club - but we were starting the season in the Premier League two years ago.
During that season Alfie assisted 8 times and scored twice in a relegated side. The same number of assists as Rice, Foden and Fernandes.
He played 37 of the 38 games for us. Fans of other teams rated him and there was even talk of Alfie for England.
He then signed a new longterm contract.
Yes, he had an injury plagued season last year in a side that was low on confidence and quality - but if we've sold him for only 3 million it is one of the worst deals we've ever done.
Particularly if you look at what we've spent more on ourselves recently.
If it’s only 3m we should not even be contemplating selling him.
The whole undisclosed fee thing is really coming back to bite 2020 on the arse. I think they’ve maybe underestimated how restless the natives have become.
In fairness, undisclosed fees aren’t the club’s fault, it’s standard now. But letting Doughty sign a new contract last year with a release clause seeming to amount to £500 and a box of training tops is daft, when we haggle over every fucking penny when it comes to buying players.
It’s just we are the pioneers of the undisclosed! It’s never bothered me, up until this season.
It is staggering how we’re in this position and the value we’ve lost in players like Elijah and Doughty who were probably valued 10m each minimum, when we came down from the PL.
To be honest I've given up on commenting on it and just looking forward to a good season. Everyone is entitled to an opinion but if you say anything against the club you are vilified so I'd rather just stay calm and see what happens over the next few months. It's not as is anything that any of us say is taken seriously by the club anyway?

He’s in a bad place after PL. He looks overweight and I fit and his head is not with the task we have. Best gone and in his current state I’d happily take£3m
