Why was the final played at 5 pm? I had assumed that it was 8 pm - weren't both semi-finals 8 pm - I know that the England one was as it was on the radio on the way back from Southend.

I watched it from about 50 mins. I genuinely wanted to enjoy it. Its England in a big final. But it was a cure for insomnia. The standard is piss poor, played at a snails pace and the penalties were mostly utter wank.
I'd happily give that Chloe Kelly a solid 6 seconds of disappointment though.

I think you’re dead wrong on the penalties, at least - no pricks’ run-ups, and Kelly won it by just battering it top corner. A lesson to all penalty takers, there - don’t fuck about with the run-up. (To be fair, much as he annoyed me last season, Morris takes a hell of a pen.)

Yep, and the ability to take a foul without a few somersaults and then punching the floor in “agony”.

To be fair, the men had a very similar run to last year's Euros Final. Often bang average but found a way to scrape through
The only difference from last year's men's final is that the best team lost today

Late goals against Slovakia (I think it was) and Holland helped get the blokes to the Final last year. So, despite being a pretty turgid watch most of the time, they, at least, did show some resilience
As I say, England were 2nd best in both finals but the women held out to take it to pens

Still not ringing bells. But it's funny how, when it's your own team that was best and lose, it's a huge frustration. When you are the worse team and win, it's a great feeling. .
