Has anyone actually

Made up a rumour about LTFC transfers for it to go viral?
Recall J in C next Luton manager
For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.

Also, Langford Hat as next manager.
Both him and J in C found their way into the bookies' odds.
There have been several rumours on here that have led to excessive (even more so than normal) policing of friendlies.
There was also the brilliant scam on here by Shep, I believe, who set up numerous posts saying that we had been drawn away to Wigan and pressed Send on them one after the other leading to an article on Vital Football about the draw by the person who ran it at the time. He still posts on here now. In fact, he has posted today. He was going to be out so had left a relative in charge of putting out details of the draw as soon as it was made.
Then there's the story of the overnight march to the National Hockey Stadium that some on here believed for years after.
One of the best non-Luton ones was the rumours that Everton were about to sign a player called Monday Bandele. It made several national papers. He was actually a character in Dream Team.
I mean there's a chance that I was also completely trousered.
I do quite vividly remember his explanation to Windass that it was a deserved 4-0 and whatever mistakes he might have made during the game were commensurate with spitting in the ocean.
I recall that Ross lived in East London and travelled to a number of games by train when he could. Maybe he didn’t drive? Very different times, happier days.
He just happened to be walking past.
Windass was great value that day, he never gave up trying and was still a class act even though his team mates weren’t at the same level that day.
