What changed between 2pm and kick-off? Good luck to him, but he’s clearly not in the right headspace, so get a deal done and move on.

He was one I thought there would be interest for. He extended his contract not so long ago so I first thought we’d get a good fee. However after the post about Carlton Morris relegation clause it makes me wonder how many other players have this clause in their contracts in which case we’ll get nowhere near his market value.
Annoys the hell out of me that the players and manager responsible for last seasons relegation remain in the championship.
I still think MB will do a good job with what he’s got. We need to get behind him.

How a team captain can negotiate a relegation clause is just mind boggling.

Has that ever been confirmed or is it just a social media rumour. The only one that I have heard confirmed is Aasgaard.

The Morris relegation clause was mentioned on the Trust podcast. Speculation maybe but you’d expect the Trust to be more ITK than your average social media poster. As I posted yesterday why would there be a relegation clause from the Championship to league one when Morris got an improved contract (?) for promotion to the PL or were there just bonuses and Morris original contact was still valid with all the original clauses intact.

You have to question the medium/long term planning, it has always been obvious that Alfie would be getting interest yet we could be 5 days away from our first league game without a specialist LB/LWB in the first team squad?

At some point we'll either have to give Joe Johnson a run in the team or move him on. It could be that time.

I've not seen anything from him that makes me think he can cut it at this level yet. Seems a bit slow for a LWB.

Perhaps a year or so playing in league 2, week in week out will do him a world of good.

Concur here. He needs to be developed in to a LCB or, I do think he could be a good DCM.

Is he even a LB? Not ever been convinced by him, though he may look better at a lower level. Bloomfield seemed reluctant to play him last season when Alfie was injured (or was he injured then as well?)

He started on Tuesday but went off injured which is, presumably, why he wasn't in the squad today.
