Didn’t know where to look when asked about the absence of Doughty.
Said something like “a lot going on pre-season, players doing this and that, Alfie felt something so it was right to leave him out”

He's quality when fit.
We could sell him for a significant amount maybe but would that money be reinvested in players ? Unsure

Not a chance. This season the most important player will be Kal or Saville. That experience will drive the rest.

Doughty, flashes of quality. Not consistent enough for me. Wish him well though. He always looked like he tried hard.

No way is he staying in Div 3. Unfortunately he's far too good for this level.

If we can't assemble a squad with or without Doughty that can't make a decent challenge on a promotion spot something is very wrong.
I don't think I can recall a player who delivers so many inaccurate crosses as Doughty from open play and set plays.
No great loss for me, part of the group of failures that we have had to endure for two seasons.
