    Kelman to Charlton

Looks like Nathan's presentation has swung it.

Oh well, on to the next one.

Always felt the least likely of the rumours of him, Lowe or Al-Hamadi.

Perhaps a bit of gamesmanship from the agent? What would Nathan hate more than hearing we had put a bid in.

The other two look far more like the kind of big physical presence we need up top with the two behind - or Alli alongside.

However, worryingly so does the young lad from Gillingham.

I imagine we'll sign whichever is the cheapest option.

          Or the most injury prone.

I think the concern is that we have bought so many players now who we told are are young, raw, with great physical attributes and room to develop - without any really working out on the pitch for us.

Taylor, Admiral, Pepple, Mendes Gomes, Dion, Kioso, Nombe...

Osho being the main exception - and I think McAtee could have been an asset.

They might not have worked out on the pitch but we probably made good money on several of them. Nombe was only on loan too.

I agree that we made good money from McAtee (who I'd have liked to have seen retained) and Taylor - but that not progress on the pitch, just progress financially.

We probably covered what we spent on Mendes Gomes.

Andd yes, Nombe was an obligation / intention to buy. He was still a gamble that didn't work.

I was going to say that about Nombe although we did have an "intent and option" to buy him at the end of the loan which we decided not to take up.

We’ve defo had more misses than hits.

Eli (pre last season), Pelly worked out. Makosso will a huge asset this season.

Based on games per spend - Pelly must be one of the greatest signing of all time.

One swallow does not make a summer......good player on his day but on to the next. However, not sure we are prepared to splash the cash at the moment.

Are Luton now Scouts for Charlton or something? 🙄

According to https://x.com/LeagueOne25 (yeah, I know), Luton offered £2m. Unfortunately, Charlton can offer him Championship football. Nevertheless, our bid doesn't sound 'penny-pinching'.

                    Charlton's summer transfers:
                    Kelman (£3.5m rumoured)
                    Apter £2m
                    Olaofe £1.5m
                    Kaminski £1m
                    Rankin-Costello £750k
                    plus Bell, Carey & Burke.
