It appears the club was aware he was injured when he arrived; he now needs surgery for the problem, whatever it may be.

Well with Mengi and JJ both out, Burke off and McGuinness seemingly still suffering from tummy trouble - it is lucky we still have Naismith, Andersen, Lonwijk, Makosso, Holmes and Walters who can all play centre back.

This isn't going to derail the first few months of the season.

Far more worried about where the goals are coming from.

          Madness

The club is saying 'minor op'. Let's see how that pans out

This summer seems to have gone alright in terms of transfers, albeit we need a striker.

But why do we keep making punts on injured or injury prone players?

What worries me is that they knew about this condition and still went ahead and signed him.

Just hope its not another tom lockyer sort of situation really.

MB speaks highly of the lad.
So long as he's not on big wages, which I'd guess he's not, then maybe it was worth the gamble going forward?

But you're right, the club does seem to make some bizarre decisions on injured players.

It’s an odd one though isn’t it. Non musculoskeletal. Still able to do non contact work. Visible on MRI. Presumably something soft tissue / internal organ related. Doesn’t sound like an ‘injury’ as such, more fixing a medical issue that anyone could suffer from. What that means for the timescale, who knows. Thankfully doesn’t sound serious.

‘Minor op’, but haven’t given any rough timescales, which suggests they don’t actually know.

Now makes sense why he was a free agent until July.

                  Peak Luton.

                    Key phrases:

                    ‘a period of time’
                    ‘a little while’

Thanks for the update, but could it be any more vague FFS?

They must see a lot in him to take the risk.

It’s not a recruitment team fault.

The article clearly states that it was the decision of the manager and club leadership to sign him.

Don’t worry lads, we’ve still got four players who can play in that position although McGuinness seems to have an ongoing “sickness “ and Holmes has gone awol so perhaps we may have to buy another centre back.
