The UN have been shown to be next to useless but any problems are of course Israel's fault.
Hamas only want jihad, not peace, no 2 state solution. Their own people are martyred to achieve their goals. How can Israel negotiate with that? Hamas declared war on Israel yet Israel are responsible for supplying them - any other similar conflict like that in history?

Unfortunately it usually isn't as easy as good or bad. Life is seldom black or white. The complexity of humankind and institutions mean that sometimes good things are done with bad motives (storing up credit against others) and bad things are done with good intentions (usuallywhen there's been misunderstandings). And then lots of things are just done neither good nor bad that people think are brilliant or good, and others ake offence at, think are evil, thus bad.
I wish life was as simple as you suggest. Regrettably it's a rather naïve hope.
