    Transfers.

I have still to be convinced by our dealings so far in the transfer market.
We are not a Wrexham or a Birmingham who ran away with the league last season.
Having spent a total of £1m on a youth goalkeeper, what we really want is a big name striker to score some goals.

Keeley us hardly a youth goalkeeper. He's 22 a played a full season for orient last season....

Lots of people are missing the point that, generally speaking, wages are more directly correlated to success than transfer fees spent.

Saville, Wells and the two CBs will be on decent money for L1, and are all seemingly very good players for this level, plus obviously a lot of the existing squad.

But yes, we need another striker, whether that's a big name or not. Someone posted the other week that Lee was Wrexham's top scorer last year with 9 goals, and they didn't do too badly

No such thing as a truly free transfer , involves agents fees and significant signing on fees in lieu of transfer fee I think this is why players allow their contracts to expire, especially players over 30, potentially one last big pay day. I’m not sure if that’s correct but that’s how I’ve always seen it . Might be different for released players.

Still less wages than had we kept all the spineless cunts though.

            +£8m?

Odds on it staying in the black when the window shuts?

This window? We’ve sold Aasgaard for £3.5m, Morris and Kaminski for £1m each, then whatever we got for Burke. We’ve spent £1m on Keeley and there’ll be a tribunal fee for Richards.
The Al-Habidi and Lowe links point to spending a reasonable chunk on a striker, hopefully two, but obviously we haven’t done that side early.

I know it's incredible to believe but we must have got something for Hashioka too.

Plus a small fee for Pepple.

I reckon we might have recouped £6.5m or £7m

Spent £1m on Keely - but tribunal for Richards and future obligation to buy fee for Nigel.

I’d forgotten about the Hashioka fee, excellent reminder! Surely that alone gives us the finances to equal the £15m Jay Stansfield fee?

I’d guess more likely £7m in transfer income plus around £3-4m in wages saved - so far.

We’re siting on £40m in parachute payments. Whatever we bring in we should invest in new players imho.

Wondering if we must ship more out before we can get any more in.

And that depends on someone willing to pay actual money for the likes of Chong, Mengi and Nakamba.
