    so far

Hate to speak to soon but decent pre season. Got rid of a couple of real liabilities (I appreciate a few to go) and again early signs are that new faces are what we need. I agree with consensus on here that a striker needed. While many will disagree I do think Walsh could be a great asset for us - yes a terrible start but I felt he started to look a decent player last few months and I think he is genuinely chastened by the red cards. Finally I think Morris going is the best thing that could happen to give us a chance to reset. I totally get his plus points but sorry we were so one dimensional with him playing and I think teams just worked us out. Hopefully a bit more trickery and nuance will help us unlock defences at the lower level.

given we played 3421 Morris would have been a far better option than Wells or Nordas against Gillingham. Wells looks decent but more like a number 10 than a central lone striker to me.

Nordas was Nordas. His timing in the air is dreadful.

I appreciate that it was probably best for Morris to leave but there was nothing in that Gillingham game that suggested that we had adequately replaced him.

Feels like we are still woefully lacking in the striker department.

Had hoped that with a solid pre-season into him, Nordas might come good.

Haven't seen any of pre-season but judging from reports it seems that he is still struggling to make the step up?

        Is that fair?

Based on the Gillingham game - more than fair.

I honestly think we just need to cut our losses.

The fact that he got more game time than Woodrow also doesn't say much for him. Although we might be saving Cauley for Southend.

A strike-force of Woodrow, Nordas, Wells and potentially Kodua.

Dare I say that this is not exactly putting the fear of God into defences is it.

I might be way off the mark here, and there is still time plenty of change to come, but it is definitely a concern right now.

I think Kodua played RWB quite a few times for Bloomfield at Wycombe. I suspect he's being brought in as cover or to compete with Walters now that Jones is out injured.

Not sure what I think about playing wingers as wing backs. Might indicate that Alli will be playing in LWB.

Great business elsewhere, with both ins and outs. Selling Aasgaard so quickly pissed me off a bit, but that's in the past now. It was always going to happen once the Norwegian manager and no doubt his agnet stirred the pot.

Sort the top end out and the squad has the potential to do great things in L1 I think.

I saw nothing from Morris last season to suggest getting money for him is nothing but a win/win.

Agreed. Went completely missing in the box, and a pisspoor captain. Good servant, but way past his best - granted, what’s left bar Alli isn’t going to terrorise anyone above an Under-10s defence either.

We certainly need another striker unless Harris can step up or Brown is seen as our saviour. I think the Ipswich striker we may or may not be linked with would be a major step forward

Maybe Harris has developed into something, but if Brown is seen as our saviour, League 2 beckons. He’s as hopeless as Woodrow.

Or maybe Nathan Lowe from Stoke, but not sure how much legs that particular rumour has.
