Isn’t capitalism wonderful? All those different companies to choose from when selecting your water provider.

The truth is out there. I only offer opinion.

The public sector is just as bad; all those different local authorities to choose from when selecting your service provider! And their Chief Execs rewarded for incompetence with huge pay-offs and pensions. They've all got their snouts in the trough, corporate and public.

Thames Water in particular - lost 1.65bn last year - total debt £16.8bn

Then the CEO has the audacity to say significant rainfall and high groundwater levels led to increased pollution incidents.

Yet the significant rainfall and high groundwater has now translated into hosepipe bans.

Yet the CEO gets a fucking payrise!?

          Absolutely mental.

I had to smile when they started going on about how precious their upper levels of management were to them and how they all needed to be given bi pay rises to retain them . . .

I don't blame Thatcher, I blame the people who voted for the government every election since 1979.

Gotta cover the shareholder's dividends somehow.

Privatisation of companies when there is absolutely fuck all competition is just a racket.

If we were living in the 80s people would be rioting on the streets of London.

We have got so used to the corruption, we all just shrug our shoulders.

Including me, can't even be bothered to be angry any more.

I saw someone the other day saying about how different the 1980s and 1970s may have been with 24/7 news cycles and social media.

The layoffs, the riots, the strikes, the National Front, Cold War, Falklands etc, football violence.

It probably would have been very different for the incumbent government if people were listening to news podcasts and had Sky News on 24/7 as opposed to only hearing it about it on the 9 O'clock news.

                      Was an interesting view!

It's very true, the saturation of bad news and how news stories are managed have made people become less engaged.

I have mostly removed myself fro social media and only get the news on 6 music.

I try to keep all the negativity at bay and negative people at arms length..
