AKA: We're not buying another striker..? Guilty of reading too much into that I suspect.
I think the links to Nathan Rowe and Ali Al-Hamadi, much as nothing has yet come, suggests we’re at least theoretically into buying a striker. What’s more encouraging is that it looks like Fanne is staying.

Well, he's right when he says that not many strikers get 20 goals a season. However, in most of our promotion seasons over the years someone has got around 20 goals or more. We probably would've struggled to gain promotion without the contributions from Steve Howard, Andre Gray, Hylts, James Collins, and Carlton Morris. Going further back, the same could be said of Supermac and Steve White, amongst others.
It's not impossible to get promoted without someone bagging 20 goals, but it's a heck of a lot easier if you've got someone who does!

Yeah was genuinely baffled how they went up with no real 'goalscorer' but I think they cycled through so many strikers in that season which kinda explains it
