It got me thinking. How does the club decide who to target for transfer? Is it Bloomfield request or is he given players to coach? Does he tell the club to go out and get him players? The club have hired a recruitment team to identify players.

They meet frequently to discuss talent that’s been spotted, players that need moving out/who want out and progress on sales and signings. MB has final say on who comes in, recruitment team do all the analysis for MB and board, sharing any new gems they’ve come across and provide data board needs to buy or sell, deals are handled by GS. MB does not have final say in who is sold, players and GS fight that out…

I would imagine the Manager knows what gaps he has to play his preferred formations so gives a list of such gaps to the recruitment team. Given his knowledge of league 1 he may provide names of players that fit the bill although the recruitment team must have final say

Thanks everyone for your input. It does give me a better understanding. I’ve followed ltfc for many years now and I still know very little about how the football club is run. I’ve got far too much time on my hands nowadays. I do like the funny replies. It one of the best things about this forum. The other being we are all Luton fans.
