    Doughty

Can healthy Doughty ever stop throwing strops on the pitch and give us fans the performances he's capable of or just go to boro now

how good is he though? We have quite a reactive fan base I find - a couple of good performances and suddenly they have a new hero. Feels to me that he cannot cross the ball that well or at least his brain does not tell him to mix it up a bit even if he has the ability to do so and his defending is hit and miss. Not been snapped up yet despite 2 relegations and somewhat optimistic talk of an England call up 2 years ago. I guess Middlesboro or Charlton look like options (I believe he is from SE London way so that might be preferred for him)

He is a good player, no doubt. He is one of our main attacking strengths and it was very noticeable when he got injured he little creativity we had.

I don't know the stats but reckon he puts more crosses in than any other full/wing back. Because of the volume he will shank the occasional one.

Also, bear in mind he's trying to hit the ball at pace with a low trajectory. Get it right and it's virtually impossible to defend, get it wrong by half a metre and it looks a poor cross.

Used to drive me crackers, people spouting that he had the most assists. I would flaming well hope so, given he took everything going apart from penalties, Even then the corners were all so predictable it was a god send to the opposition defenders when he wandered over to take them, they knew exactly where it was going.

I'm sure the Snake would snap him up but he probably thinks he's better than Charlton

He and Burke last season both seemed to have a bit of a Roy Keane attitude towards the end of last season of "my team mates are shit and letting me down, it's pathetic and not good enough!".

It was true, but not constructive or helpful. We're probably better off without that resentment and negativity. Start afresh with people looking forward, not frustrated about what's gone before.

Or maybe they thought there are some players here who think they are better than they are who are nothing more than wage thieves. Most fans lost patience with many of the players so why wouldn't players who tended to give a toss?

Like I said, I don't think they were wrong. But either way it didn't help and we probably need to start again without a squad who are pissed off.

If healthy and motivated Doughty is a HUGE asset.
