    Alcohol sales in Scottish grounds

I'm not entirely sure the benefit this actually is...

      Don't you really?

      Surely you're not that dumb?

Well, I'm not expert on Scottish rules around drinking alcohol but it sounds like you currently can't even buy a drink in the grounds so this experiment is apparently a trial run - yet in a fan zone outside the stadium, unless I've misread or misunderstood it.

I read it as being in part of the main stand which sounds to be inside the stadium. What seems wrong to me is that it looks as though, effectively, you have to pay for five pints whether you drink them or not. I know that a lot will not see that as a problem but it seems a strange way of doing it especially when trying to convince the authorities.

My knowledge of Scotland is limited. But is the current rule no alcohol can be consumed anywhere inside the stadium except in hospitality lounges, and even that is when not in sight of the pitch?
So I read it that this pilot will make it similar to the English rule where alcohol can be bought and consumed at a stadium but can't be consumed in sight of the pitch.

It's clearly a build up to the real deal. When supporters can have a beer whilst watching football at that lower level.
Any level lower than the conference in England allows it and clubs are reaping the rewards.

Allowing the Sweatys to get tanked up before a game of football, what could possibly go wrong?
