    Communication fair play

Having wondered how the club would handle the rumours about Aasgaard’s fee, Bloomfield’s statement was spot-on: clear, no room for doubt and bonus points for a couple of digs at Rangers and that prick Solbakken. Top work, hopefully points the way forward.

The bit I don't fully understand is that if there was a release clause and Rangers met the sum then how can any possible "add ons" accrue?

Scottish press reported the fee as £3.5 million up front with a further million dependent on clauses.

As Rangers are a big club with all sorts of insiders inclined to leak to the regional media up there I'm inclined to suspect that's quite accurate. The added million would therefore have been specified in the release clause.

If the release fee was hypothetically £5 million. We could demand the full figure upfront if a club meets the fee.

If Rangers wanted to pay £2.5 million now and £2.5 million next year to help their cashflow then the club could agree to this, if Rangers were to agree to giving us 25% of any future transfer profit.
