    Burke

I see Burke wasn't included yesterday. Is he injured or on his bike? Shame, top defender when fit.

Our best defender by a mile, possibly Mengi could have a say on that but unfortunately he's just not robust enough. Could be wrong but I don't think he's played more than 6 games in a row in all his years with us.

Massive shame but I think the time could be right.

Need to get rid along with Baptiste, never going to get more than a handful of games between them.

Always rated Burke, but CB us the one position we have some depth in.

I think Mads will stay, and might end up becoming a regular. He was the best defender in L1 when we bought him.

He's been really unlucky with injuries (I think all stemming from the huge physical gap there is between L1 and the PL), and because of this he's been labelled shit and a waste of space (The same as Cauley and Baptiste).

Mads was one of the players I was most excited by when we signed him. However, in the first few games it was clear he wasn't mobile enough to play on the right or left of a back three in the Prem - and Locker played central.

At this level though he is potentially a star but does he get in ahead of Makosso, McGuinness and Naismith in a three or Makosso and McGuinness in a two.

As a player we bought in 23/24 you'd assume he's on hefty wages Can we afford for him to be cover and sitting on the bench?

If the club can shift them I think Mengi, Holmes, Burke and Mads could be off.

Don't remember anyone labelling him shit tbh. The reality is that someone who spends as long injured as him is a luxury we can't afford.

Maybe shit was unfair. But waste of space definitely. He was fit the end of last season (just couldn't get in the team because of others good form), so it feels like he's turned the corner on the injuries front to me.

Catch 22, if he's cracked his injury problem then it'll probably tempt some bids from the Chsmpionship

Will be a massive shame, but think a rebuild is necessary.
