    Player sales so far

I think we're all agreed that one of the big reasons (in hindsight) for the abject failure that was last season was that we kept a tight grip on the the players who came down with us from the PL and who were in a rut/Didn't want to be here anymore?

So now, we're trying to avoid that mistake, and are clearing the decks of players who don't want to be here and have resale value. Yet the majority of posters on here and Twitter seem to be compltely freaking out about this approach (The same people who were highlighting the above fact constantly last season).

I understand it's been lacklustre so far in terms of 'ins', but I'll be very surprised if we don't see some decent incomings farily soon.

It wasn't the players alone, 2020 fucked up massively. Perhaps it was the willingness to sign mercenaries like Moses etc. What the hell were they thinking? Rob Edwards should take a lot of the blame too, but maybe if 2020 had made an attempt in the January 2024 window we may well have survived, highly likely we would still of gone down but we went down without a fight.

I'm very weary as to what is going on with regards to transfers. As usual we will get and dregs and the players no one else wants. They show absolutely no ambition in the transfer windows and it's concerning. There is a reason why many people have started questioning whether what is going on is good enough, and quite frankly it isn't. Like someone said earlier, clubs that a run well don't suffer 2 successive relegation. Our relegation were down to ignorance and arrogance on behalf of the board, manager, players and recruitment. They seem tp be so obsessed with PC that the footballing side has gone to shit.

Put it this way, I don't think most of us here will ever see PL football played at Luton ever again and that in turn will ensure we don't fill PC.

Agreed, I'm sure that 2020 will be right on it this time and that some ambitious signings will be seen shortly.

In terms of supporters questioning the way we're clearing the decks, I'm assuming that Morris, Kaminski and Aasgaard (if he follows) weren't the first three on their list of players they'd like to go.

But there are legitimate concerns about that approach.

What happens if the players we're trying to shift, because they don't want to be here, end up staying? We could be left relying on someone who underperformed badly last season and still has no desire to be part of the squad.

Secondly, the first game of the season is less than a month away. That doesn't leave much time to integrate new signings and work with them. It also raises the risk of scrambling for last minute deals at the end of the window again, which went disastrously last summer.

I understand the club is in a bit of a catch-22 here, but I also think it's fair for people to have genuine concerns about how this is unfolding.

Fingers crossed it's all under control. But the very nature of how you've described it, reliant on other teams wanting our players and paying them what they're earning here, means it's very much out of our control.

There are a lot more who will go and I’m sure their replacements are either agreed or at least identified. Why they are dragging their arses with info I don't know, unless they are trying to synchronise things so we don’t all go ape shit. I see Alli modelled the training kit. I really hope that means he’s staying.

Oh for olden times when clubs issued a transfer list of who was available (ie not wanted) - would be interesting to see who would be on it now
