    Turnover or revenue?

Seems to be a critical question in our situation.

Is there much of a difference?

What's the point of parachute payments exactly if they can't be included in the calculation?

Aren't turnover and revenue the same thing? Both are gross income before any deductions?

Perhaps not the ultimate authoritative source but this is how I understand it:

Of course they are. Parachute payments will be included in the calculation.

Next season is the killer though. Turnover/revenue will drop to around £12/£13M. The Board will need to factor this in when signing new players in this window. Almighty balancing act.

They are patently not the same.

They are not exactly the same but not in the way you described.

Without going into an unnecessary level of detail, the parachute payments are included in the % calculation.

Not my description. It was an AI response.
The last published turnover figure, up to 30/06/2024 couldn't have included an element of parachute payments as the first payment wasn't due until after our first season in the Championship.

An AI response to which is bigger, turnover or revenue?
'Turnover is generally the higher figure. It represents the total income that a business generates from its core operations before any deductions. Revenue on the other hand, is often used to refer to the profit remaining after subtracting expenses and costs from turnover'

"Revenue on the other hand, is often used to refer to the profit remaining after subtracting expenses and costs from turnover"

I think that the above is not correct. The profit remaining after subtracting expenses and costs from turnover is called gross profit, not revenue.

Difference between revenue and turnover is defined here: https://members.boardhost.com/lutonoutlaws/msg/1751548948.html

It seems that the EFL have their own interpretation of what constitutes turnover anyway.

I imagine that there's one that's specific to Luton as well.
