100% yes.
Since 2019 household income has fallen for the poorest. Those unable to heat their home has risen from 4% to 11% Child poverty is at 25%, which is pretty shocking.
And all these measures are rising at 1.5% a year.
In a country that has a lot of wealth I find it pretty disgusting how the poorest are constantly made out to be the problem, when the problem is at the top.
The corruption allowed to go on, encouraged by the Tories, is sickening, just have a look at how the utility companies are run.
There needs to be a complete rethink on the way wealth is being distributed.

I think data suggests that the poorer aren’t any better off than they were 20 years ago which is unusual as living standards have got better over a period of time but covid (fuel costs) have had a huge impact over the last couple of years as prior to that the graph continued to improve. What isn’t taken into account that have seen huge changes in the quality of life. We now have power to our homes ( gas/electric), WiFi , mobile phones , dishwashers , tv,s , washing machines etc etc . Which most didn't have 80 years ago so quality of life is so much more improved and consequently what we spend our money on has changed.
What we had 80yrs ago has no bearing on how we live now. It's a bit like saying " yeah but the poor had it tougher in roman times"
The point is there are too many people trapped in poverty with very little hope of things improving any time soon. The journey leads you to the answers..

No it’s really not …for 2000 years not much changed but in the last 80 years life is unrecognisable from what it was.

There are an awful lot of parents who think their drinking, their smoking, their sky/Netflix, their phones, are more important than their children's welfare. It is not just politicians,( of any team) that causes the problems..
I am sure that there are some like that but that doesn't change the facts about poverty and shouldn't be used to distract from the real issues.
