Players jumping ship was always going to happen. As I mentioned here before, there is a huge gap between the championship and L1 in terms of profile, money, prestige etc.
No one wants to be here. If I was in Morris’ or Doughty’s shoes, I wouldn’t want to be here. I’m a bit annoyed though that a player who joined literally six months ago is off already. Knowing what predicament we were in already.
That said, maybe the club are happy to pocket the money and it’s more of a Luton decision than the player’s. We assume that it’s the player and his agent that is kicking up the fuss.
Perhaps Luton just want to trim the wage bill considerably.

There’s a huge gap between the championship and league 1, maybe. But between league 1 and the SPL?? Not that great I’d suspect…

I was looking forward to seeing Aasgaard give us that creative spark this season. Think it’s important now that we hang on to Clark!

I have to say if we can't hang on to the players we want to after a relegation season when we have money for decent wages it really shows what players really think of playing for Luton. How have we become so unattractive ? When was the last player who just liked playing for us? Pelly?

While true, it’s also true that we have been in this division since we lost at West Brom.
While disappointing that players like Aasgard might go it begs the question why we haven’t started signing players who want to play at this level.
Taking the best players from L1 and L2.
I see Stockport have spent a million £ today on a forward from Peterborough, supposedly beating of interest from QPR.
That shows the direction and ambition.
After 18 months of misery surely it’s reasonable to ask for better?
Surely Stockport are not going to be able to outbid us now?
