    Transfer expectations

Yes we've put a lot of the Prem money into Power Court, but I still think it's not unreasonable to think we should be going out and bringing in the best in this division. I've seen people on here saying "We were never going to match the money Birmingham spent.." etc but that's a complete extreme and totally irrelevant. We should be doing more than looking for older/injury prone free transfers. Assuming we're recouping a fair bit on outgoing players anyway, we should be going into League 1 clubs and triggering release clauses. Maybe everything is going to start after July 1st as some have suggested but I have totally lost faith in the club's recruitment ability after some of the shambolic windows we've had. We are getting Prem money that dwarfs what others get in this league, we should for this year at least be the big fish going for the big names (no I don't know the division well enough to name players). Sincerely hope things get moving asap because we need to get some winners in the building who are bedded in and ready to go at the start of August.

At the moment I'd just like to see a team that is as good as the one we had last time we were in League One. Right now I'm really not seeing it.

      Shea

      Stacey
      Bradley
      Pearson
      JJ

      McCormack
      Berry
      Pelly
      Lee

      Collins
      Cornick

Subs: Stech, Potts, Sheehan, Shinnie, Lua Lua, Moncur Hylton

That team was exceptional for the level, it went 26 games unbeaten or something like that. There is no chance we start the season with a team as good as that. We may end up having 1 or 2 better individuals, but as a team, no chance, and I don't think its realistic to expect it. We are starting from scratch almost.

That team had evolved from promotion previous season and several years with the same Manager.

We're not gonna see that right now straight after a relegation with contracts only just expiring.

It needs to be one in, one out - minimal risk with a hint of ambition. Just give us something to cling to.

            Do you mean Lewis ?

Only he is neither old nor particularly injury prone.

He's had quite a few injuries. The other 2 frees we've brought in are both in their 30s.

He's 27 and appears to have had 2 injuries in his 10 year career where he has been out for 2 months or more.

Lol you don't want a 27-year old from the Prem who is a luton lad cos he is out of contract so there's no fee, but you would rather us spend big money on players 2 leagues below him.

Take the sentiment out of it, we should recruit on merit

People just love moaning about everything!

Every signing will be picked to pieces.

Newcastle fans and even Watford fans weren't exactly overly positive about him.

It's a hell of a punt. It might work, like Barkley did. But it's a big gamble IMO. And it's not like we've scouted him or sent Mick over to Brazil to watch him play anytime in the last 12 months or so.

It's only a vague rumour, Newcastle fans said he would be more than capable in L1.

It will be interesting to see if the new recruitment team are better than last season!
