    Departures

With the ever seemingly departure of kaminski due at any time. It would mean that after 3 players departing the club have saved anywhere between 30k to 60k a week off the wage bill that is massive especially when in league 1.

There could be even more coming off if interest in Chong and Doughty come to fruition.

Jamal leiws a potential transfer in would be a decent replacement for doughty but surely a pay as u play 1 year deal perhaps.

If Thelo aasgaard goes to stoke then surely we could negotiate a deal to get nathan lowe in either on loan or a permanent deal.

You should definitely email the club with your ideas.

No way a player would take a contract like that. Zero security for them. Might be 1 year with an option for a further year but that's risky for the player.

Likely to be a few more than that going now it’s contract ending or anniversary date. I think the next few days will see our squad decimated. I only hope they have replacements lined up.

bearing in mind the weekends' frank discussions on here, I think most would describe the changes as necessary and sensible as we rebuild for the future

players who have been double relegated need to move on for the benefit of both parties

I agree but we need to see some suitable replacements not just exits.

We need to be buying the best players in Leagues 1 and 2.

We are freeing up huge salaries via the departures and can offer excellent wages (for this level) that will ensure we secure such players.

Recall that two of our “better” players came from L1 in January and neither were playing in outstanding teams nor pulling up trees.

There is a pool of talent that we need to tap, but I agree it needs to happen this week.

"decimated" means reduced by a tenth.

I'm not sure if this has happened.

Good morning fellow pedant, allow me to out-pedant you. The main definition of decimate in this millennium , is’ to kill, destroy or remove a large part of’. Your definition is an archaic (although original) usage. Since killing 10% of Roman Soldiers has happened so rarely since Diocletian croaked his last, the word was a valid one in my OP. I think you will agree by the time the cull is complete.

In this instance, we need more than decimation. What’s the word for one in three?
