Is it a fact that he is injury prone as I don't know a great deal about his career - could you post a summary of his injury record on which you are basing your comment, please.
I know that Wikipedia doesn't necessarily give full or accurate information but it only includes reference to one injury - an ankle injury sustained in training whilst on international duty.

Sometimes it works, Doughty hardly played at Stoke which gave us the chance to sign him. The key is not to give out long, lucrative contracts to someone who has a point to prove, make it appearance/performance related so if it doesn't work they don't become a liability.

He seems to have had one injury, returned to Newcastle where he was out of favour anyway and then the window was shut so he couldn't have played anywhere else.
