I've always thought there was a "w" at the start of the last line!

Bayliss was a top man. Remember him sorting out some tickets for an away game up north. Not sure how he knew where I worked, but he rang my work and telephoning put him through “have a David Bayliss who wants to talk to you” 😂

He had two tickets. (I had received several previously)

But that’s how he was. My Rochdale friend said he did a lot of work for children’s hospices in NW.

His dad was a good laugh on the IOM tournament. He knocked a few beers back on that trip. Took the boat from Liverpool where they were from.

          Legend of Outlaws

We're gonna fight, fight, fight for the Black and White,
We're the best team in the land (circa 1968).

I liked that one and sang it around the house. An alternative or maybe the second verse was

We're gonna fight, fight, fight for Luton Town
            until we win Division Three...

            Anyone remember?

Starting with 'to hell with Man United, to hell with Liverpool?' Did Torquay come in somewhere to rhyme with Division Three?

'We hate O'Farrell and the Leicester kop...'

The Marching Through Georgia tune would have been first appropriated on the terrace, by Glasgow Rangers in the 1920's. The Razor gangs of Bridgeton Cross had a sectarian version, (Billy Fullerton being their leader) which was then adopted by the Rangers fans.

That would be the 'hello, hello' song, surely?

Never very fond of that due to sectarianism- all around us growing up in Luton of course.

Yes. Was banned in theory, but needless to say still gets an outing.
Both sides so similar and shortsighted.
