    May as well

    ...have kept Southgate

Plodding, low tempo, dull shit with no enthusiasm or energy

England trying to 'Pep' their way to glory is what cost them the Euro Final in 2021. They need to mix it up a bit. Some direct, high tempo passages of play mixed up with the more controlled, slower, boring stuff

This methodical, mechanical shite style is what's killing football but, fortunately, with PSG, Spain and some others at club and international level, it looks like that way of playing might be on the way out

      Yep.

      So dull to watch.

The good news is, the FA being as unoriginal and reactive as ever, will no doubt start mimicking the current PSG and Spain style in the coaching manuals just as it begins to fade out of fashion. Always one step behind, never setting the pace.

The problem is that fashion has spread down the divisions.

          Yep.

Because all the managers have to pass their coaching badges ensuring they mimic Pep's style of keep ball. So the discourse is enshrined throughout football.

Spot on. No innovation at all, ever, from an organisation that still appears to be stuffy and old-fashioned

Still haven't forgiven them for the -10 points in 2008 so I might be biased

PSG win the Champions League playing youthful, energetic individuals.

We stick in a 34 year old Jordan Henderson who's legs went many years ago.

I was pretty dismayed at the time with the appointment of Tuchel as manager. Nothing nationalistic but bring in an English coach who values the pathway through U17/U19/21.

The FA have just bought in a 'gun for hire' with absolutely no thought to the future.

Well there's actually quite a few that are half decent, but if course won't get the England job as the supposedly big 6 won't touch them as they're too scaredy cat to try.

But take Eddie Howe and Scott Parker for starters. Irrespective of what you may think of them they are established PL level managers. Then you've got another bracket of decent English managers at championship level including, Neil Harris, Frank Lampard, Chris Wilder, Gary Rowett, Gary Bowyer, Mark Robins, and hopefully Matt Bloomfield. And the lower you go the more English managers you get including better known ones such as Paul Cook, Nigel Clough, and Danny Cowley.

Can you imagine Scott Parker as England manager?

                  Good god.

It didn't read to me that he didn't understand your comment. Just he wouldn't want Parker as manager.

Potter my choice. And before you rant off, read his CV.

No I’d agree with Potter too
However I think you probably have to be at a certain stage of yore career to be an international manager. It may not be for everyone

PSG did indeed and the Henderson selection is just baffling. But we have plenty of youthful, energetic (at club level, anyway) players out there today. Which makes it all the more shit

No strong feelings on Touchel but if he's just going to get us playing like this, then he can fuck off
