The salty tears from the Co commentator on the radio last night. He’s been taking lessons off the Fat Frank school of commenting on a game that bears zero resemblance to what the rest saw or heard live. 🤣

Just as long as Southend beat FGR, then this will have worked out for the best!

With a nod to the recent future predicting skills of our Letchworthian, if Southend go up they will be back for Mr Pepple.

In fact it wouldn't surprise me if they want him regardless of the league they are in.

Have to say I have full admiration the job Kevin Maher has done at Southend, ably assisted by JS of course.

Maher has stuck with them throughout their recent troubles and assembled some very good sides despute the financial constraints. Such loyalty is rare in football.

Maher has a testimonial game on Friday at Southend.
Another ex-Luton Darren Currie is on the Southend coaching staff.

                Good call PaulR

A few our own favourites in the Southend legends XI, although I can't see our friend from Langford mentioned....

Southend United XI: Kevin Maher, Darryl Flahavan, Mark Gower, Mark Beard, Che Wilson, Adam Barrett, Leo Roget, Lee Barnard, Jason Demetriou, Luke Guttridge, David Lee, Mark Bentley, Duncan Jupp, Darren Currie, Alan McCormack, Chris Powell, Andy Edwards, Matt Harold

There is one player in there that many may not realise once played for Luton - Daryl Flahavan.

                  Can anyone remember the occasion?
