    Ref today

Posted by Nick NBH on 26/4/2025, 20:06:18

-Their red. Don`t think it was a deliberate foul. But it was a foul. An it was last man. So automatic red
-Ref seemed reluctant to book any of their players afterwards. And there were several challenges that were yellow card worthy , or yellows for repeat fouls. Or time wasting. Take your pick
-Walsh as silly to get involved - but i wonder if he gets set off at 11 vs 11. 2nd yellow yeah - but you get those shoves a lot. Ref had a chance to even the game up
-Ref having evened things up didnt send off jones - which was a bit of a nothing kick, but probably more red worthy than Walsh. Mind you lampard did everything he could to try and make in 10 vs 9 then moaned about the ref - who was exceptionally leninet with them after their red

He was looking to even things out from the 13 min onwards.
Awful ref and I don't usually complain about them, but this twat was determined to make it a stop start game.

Nick, struggled to understand the majority of that but sure you've enjoyed a few well deserved beer.

Thought your first point was right though. Great for us but football is gone of you start showing reds for that.

Other than ‘Walsh as’ - which I think should’ve read ‘Walsh WAS’ - I think, and having seen only the highlights- makes perfect sense to me. Are you sure it isn’t you having the well deserved beer ?

As an aside I work with a member of his family, someone I know and trust well. I’m assured that he isn’t hot headed and aggressive, though undisputedly committed. Maybe a bit silly to get involved but no way was that a red.

He was an absolute idiot and so nearly cost us. Absolute braindead behaviour but I'm sure he's a nice bloke and is his family*

*he is still a total, fucking liability though.

Have you looked at his record beforehand? That it might, in all honesty - be just a blip? That was a nothing decision, it was a case of the ref trying to level things up.

And having seen the highlights I’d judge on the evidence seen that McGuinness and Jones were the bigger ‘liabilities’.

You’re better than that mate. Players read this forum.

He was MOTM up until that point. Instead it went to "wage thief" Baptiste for his 3 touches or whatever. But one of them could be the most important of the season so far. If that keeps us up he has justified his seasons wages in the physio room.

Whether Walsh gets his red overturned is a different matter. Ridiculously harsh for a straight red, but the panel may say he raised his hands. I would like to see some retroactive punishment bought in for players who clutch a part of their body that wasnt impacted though

Was that Sky MotM? Aasgaard won the club one.

Yep. Wasn`t announced during the match - just somewhat surprised to see him with the sky trophy after.

I thought it looked (from the KR end) as though he was walking off with a trophy - I wondered if he had collected it on Walsh's behalf which would probably make more sense than giving it to someone who only came on after 78 minutes.

Still our best player despite that.
