    What were you doing

Posted by Farhat on 15/4/2025, 15:06:27

11 years ago today? I was sitting at home with a decent bottle of Gavi, refreshing the BBC scores app. 11 years ago tomorrow a few of us met at the Great Northern then wandered down to KR to watch the reserves, and to celebrate finally getting out of the Conference. Then, for reasons I can't remember, we got the busway and got merrily drunk in Dunstable.

I was driving round Sunshine Coast in a campervan with some lovely ladies and a couple of mates.

It would've been early morning Oz time when the Kidderminster result came in so I would've woken up to one of the lovely ladies and the good news.

Actually I might've been in Darwin in which case the ladies had gone elsewhere and I probably would've woken up with a hangover to the good news

Sat at home watching SSN. Then jumping round the living room like a lunatic.

At home when the result came in, RickyH texted and we met down the Brickies for a few where the badged hat one pulled a ready made poster out of his bag to hang on the wall.

                Legend of Outlaws

Not sure, although I remember seeing that Mick Harford and John Still were both at a football match, and Mick gave John the good news.

To be honest, that time was a bit of a blur, as my elder brother had died a few days before, so never got to know we were out of the Conference.
