    Club social media

You would think some people would think twice before responding to official club posts.

Imagine probably being some of the lowest paid people at the club and posting about the club open training for kids and then getting a barrage of sarky comments in your notifications each time.

They must wonder why they bother sometimes - it's hardly their fault where we are in the league,

Mostly from inadequates who'd absolutely shit themselves if they had the chance to say in person what they say from the safety of their phones or laptops.

        Agreed, it’s uncalled for.

It seems to be an epidemic in football that media people and analysts are chronically underpaid because people are desperate to get in the game and / or work for the club they support.

If only there was a way they could be paid a bit more?

Even though over the years you have made it pretty clear you think I’m a wanker, and everyone is entitled to their opinion, I would suggest the points I raise and obviously wang on about are in the interests of the supporters.

I can understand the FOGS are very protective of a mate of theirs and thus prickle at any criticism, but I’d have thought a lefty like yourself would have felt a bit uncomfortable with the level of £ given the clubs financial issues historically, the cost of living v raising ticket prices, and telling supporters who have stuck with the club not to be Billy Big Bollocks after securing an eye watering bonus 24 hours before.

            Cue abuse

You transparently know the reasons and rationale behind that pay out, and are presumably aware of just how little GS was paid for years. You may even know about the sacrifices he made and the hours he still works. Yet you use faux naïveté to deliver what seems like a very bitter, resentful and negative version of it all.

Never understood that. We're all FOLTFC, not FOGS

Well over 80 a week mostly. Regularly puts in 17-18 hour days.

Suggest you ask someone who has a clue, unlike you, if you want to check that.

Hard work is a given in a role like that.

Plenty of public servants up and down the country doing just as much for far far less money.

                      I don't think so.

And my final line is spot on: you regularly demonstrate that you haven't got a clue about the club or how it is run, just generalised opinions based on vastly different scenarios.

But then teacher always knows best I guess....

                        Plenty do.

Hard work should be a given in that job, not a proxy of success.

You don’t have to be part of this overly defensive clique to see that the way the club has been run in the last 18 months has been poor. Getting relegated this season will be a catastrophic failure and without rose tinted specs on, a CEO, amongst others, is accountable. Sport at the top level isn’t all mates and chums.

Don't give up your day job, and don't expect to get away with gibberish like your second sentence, and the start of your third.

Football has been catastrophic but off the pitch the club's achievements over those 18 months have been sensational. Not just Power Court. And he's overseen that delivery too.

Did you get that last sentence free with a job lot of maxims and just chuck it in for good measure?

You started with a defence of GS and a reference to the hours he works. He’s in a very well paid job and as people keep pointing out, is a fan too. Long hours is par for the course. Plenty of people put long hours into jobs and many for far less pay.

Don’t disagree there have been some successes off the pitch. The football is the core business though and it’s been an undeniable mess, potentially setting us back years. Winning tomorrow and survival is absolutely critical.

I don’t think anyone has doubted the what was done over the years, but I don’t think I’m the only one that has similar feelings about how the club is now, even to how it was 6 or 7 seasons ago.

I do take time to reflect on these things and wonder if I had been in the same position would I have taken the wedge and to be perfectly honest I can’t say 100% I would have said “steady on”

Obviously people would say that’s irrelevant as you wouldn’t have the capability to do it.

I also would say you tend to exaggerate what people “should know” as I from what I understand we have only had to publish extensive accounts since 2019/20, whereas before they could be abbreviated (I await to be corrected) but I recall Price of Football commenting on the lack of transparenct in the accounts, whilst praising the overall running of the club finances.

I can add bitter, resentful, naive to miserable and being a dick and being "Derek" .

I don't resent people getting on in life and doing well for themselves at all, but surely the question can be asked how much is too much

Minimum wage now is 25k a year apparently if you work 40 hours a week.

Just an aside - not saying the social media team get paid that, but that's not too bad money these days. It's the clubs who hire interns that take the piss.

That's a take home of £1817 each month.

                      1 Bed rent is £900

                      Poll tax is £128

                      Gas & Elec £60

That leaves £729 per month or £168 a week for all other living expenses.

I know but I remember moving to London on 10k a year in late 90s, 25k is not too bad for a starting wage really.
