The spastics that do that deserve the same abuse as the players will undoubtedly receive Friday if they put in another 'I don't give a shit' performance like yesterday. Our away support tends to be more vocal than our home support and despite the fact I really hope abuse doesn't happen, if it's deserved, it's deserved.

We don’t expect a lot, but looking like you care about the result is an absolute minimum. And not just looking a little bit dejected at the end when the realisation sets in that there’s no win bonus again this week.

Re: Derby

It won't be 'most'. I think the majority are pissed off now. There will of course be a fair amount of simpletons that do clap though.
Re: Derby
Posted by crumpsall on 13/4/2025, 19:15:12, in reply to "Re: Derby" MIB
I think people who boo are the simpletons.
And yes I was massively pissed off with the performance yesterday.
But a few negative cunts trying to slate those who choose a more positive approach can fuck right off.
Along with the clueless personal abuse aimed at GS and 2020.
This season has said a lot about some of our 'fans'
Re: Derby
Posted by Doctor Ince on 13/4/2025, 21:24:46, in reply to "Re: Derby"
What has it said? That fans don't like seeing two successive relegations?
As I said at the LTST meeting, 90% of fans only care about the team and results, they don't religiously follow to the extent you and I do, the details of the new ground. They don't care about sub stations or rivers, and many are sceptical that the ground will ever actually be build as there's been a few (understandable) delays.
You might think this makes them simpletons or whatever, but that's just how it is. I've spoken to a fair few people this season who go home and away - I'm certain you will know more or less all of them - who think we've given money back to investors and not invested in the squad.
Gary's argument is we have spent money, and we have, it's just been on spineless shite and injury prone cast offs. Our key players are all getting older now and despite all the brilliant work off the pitch, the actual football has gone down the pan.
That is all most fans see and care about. I didn't boo yesterday because I left as soon as Mengi had that pass back of a shot right at the end. I certainly wouldn't have clapped.
None of this is personal to GS or 2020, but they've dropped a bollock on the footballing side, and we cannot claim to be the best run club anymore.
To end on a positive, Liam Walsh has grown on me. Tidy player and gives his all
Re: Derby
Posted by MG on 14/4/2025, 7:47:16, in reply to "Re: Derby"
Honestly, calling people simpletons and the like for choosing to clap or not clap is just, well the work of simpletons .
But, if as you say, most fans don't care enough to bother finding out what the reasons are for why things are happening and then just go flooding social media with their opinions then that isn't exactly constructive or imho being "supportive".
Re: Derby

Agree with that including the comment on Walsh. Just a shame we don’t have a holding midfielder to play with him and clicker….well we do but doesn’t get any game time….he must look shit in training as hasn’t had a look in.

I was utterly gutted not to be there as so important to get member input and ensure the Trust is going in the right direction. Some very good people there now, esp the person who presented the strategy.

Re: Derby
Posted by spix on 13/4/2025, 21:10:25, in reply to "Re: Derby"
Yet Aasgaard hit the underneath of the bar, an inch or so lower and the same fans who bood would be cheering and clapping our heroes like lunatics.
Same with Alli's effort hitting the bar. Fine margins.

Re: Derby
Posted by Earls on 13/4/2025, 19:27:23, in reply to "Re: Derby"
I get not booing, but I fail to see how applauding the players after yesterday achieves anything either. Shockers happen. Bloomfield has enough credit in recent weeks for the “Bloomfield out” views to look OTT. But that was a dismal performance topped off by dismal substitutions and tactics. Clapping it indicates it was acceptable. Coupled with the importance of the game, I just don’t see how it helps. Of course fans can accept defeats. Of course we’ll still be there for the next games. But that stank like week-old fish and nobody deserved applause afterwards.

Re: Derby
Posted by The Questioner on 13/4/2025, 20:32:57, in reply to "Re: Derby"
I don’t understand how you can remain so positive and always jump to the clubs defence…never seen you post any criticism. The majority of fans recognise the fantastic job sweet & 2020 have done to get us to the Premiership. However we are currently joint bottom in the Championship with more money and financial stability we have ever had. The last 12 months the board and ceo have been negligent and in any other business would have been fired. Its not irrelevant what has gone on before but to use a golfing analogue you are only as good as your last shot. Many of us have regularly taken the piss out clubs like Stoke & Sunderland who have had money but used it badly.Well imo we have done just the same over the last few transfer windows and currently in a worse position.
Re: Derby
Posted by crumpsall on 13/4/2025, 20:44:43, in reply to "Re: Derby" MIB
You don't understand because you don't understand (again) and I'm not going to reply (again) about my positivity and how much I question GS and the club. Presumably you have a short memory or very low comprehension capacity.
'Would have been fired'? Ffs do you still have no idea what incredible things they're achieving off the pitch?
And/or their admission they've screwed up many ways re on the pitch?
I sometimes think this board should get 'care in the community' funding
Re: Derby
Posted by The Questioner on 13/4/2025, 21:15:56, in reply to "Re: Derby"
But reasons best known to yourself you chose to not share those alleged questions on here. Why is that ?
I think it’s great we are going to get a new stadium albeit a long time in the making. However here and now it’s been a fucking shit 12 months and criticism is well merited imo.
Btw I don’t see the point in booing but certainly didn’t clap that inept performance yesterday.

Re: Derby
Posted by The Questioner on 13/4/2025, 21:45:31, in reply to "Re: Derby"
I think you wrote you ask questions via the Trust ….many of us aren’t members so why wouldn’t you share them on here. I can’t believe there is any question of confidentiality.
When I have claimed that ? Don’t be an idiot just because I am asking questions you clearly are uncomfortable with.
Re: Derby
Posted by crumpsall on 13/4/2025, 21:55:27, in reply to "Re: Derby" MIB
I'm not uncomfortable with anything you or anyone else on here asks.
I'm not a Trust board member so have no right to post anything I've asked through them. I'll ask you this though - why aren't you a member if you have concerns?
Most of my questions go direct to GS as it happens and in my world confidentiality is a key value. And/or questions and chalkenges through various action groups. Over the years there have been many, many opportunities to get involved.
Unfortunately some people prefer to do fuck all but snipe from the sidelines.
Re: Derby
Posted by The Questioner on 13/4/2025, 22:16:18, in reply to "Re: Derby"
So you don’t post because you feel it would be a breach of confidentiality…fair enough but I don’t recall you mentioning that before. I don’t have the time or inclination to get involved. There you go again….anyone asking difficult questions are sniping…think Dr Ince post above gets it pretty much spot on. Imo so much of the hard earned currency Sweet & the board have earned over the last few years is swiftly getting spent which is unfair but back to back relegations with so much money is gauling.

And as for saying anything to his face, I think you know me well enough for that not to a problem. He's in the public eye, this is a public messageboard where we discuss all things luton. Perhaps you're right with the over use of it. The topic of GS is getting a lot of airtime on here at the moment though and it's understandable why. If people are getting pissed off with what's posted on here, tell them to counter the argument with their own thoughts on the subject. Since registration the anonymous snide posts are now few and far between so reasonable discussions should flow well.

Unfortunately we've seen a lot of past regulars who reappeared disappear again, and from conversation (so obviously selective) that's in many cases been due to the endless negative shite.
Some of us put a lot of work (you know a bit about what I mean of course) into trying to generate positive support and it's a kick in the bollocks to read and hear the negative, destructive shite.
I'll say again, some people* seem to not give a shit what damage they're doing as long as they can 'say what they want, they've paid their money'. Well so have a lot of people who don't want to hear their crap.
