Naismith

Odd he’s barely featured since Burnley. I get not breaking up the back 3 who have been doing well by and large, but surely he was an option at LWB today, or as a midfield sub generally (given that he can pass the ball to a teammate and take a decent set piece), or a sub for Bell, who was awful today.
Obviously our main problem is we can’t score anywhere near enough to save ourselves, but especially today I’d have brought him on over Mengi.

Feel like he's been punished for the sending off.
He's a better player than all of the back 3.
I would start him at Derby but can't see it given Mengi was brought on first today.

I've been saying this for the last two games. We desperately have needed a player with a bit of composure and an eye for a pass.
Back three today don't have that ability to get hold of the ball and stride out of defence. Christ may be decent but his passing is pretty atrocious. McGuiness is a typical ball winning centre half and Bell seems paralysed with fear whenever he is on the ball.
Naismith would also be a decent option in centre mid, fuck me he can't be worse than Walsh.
I suspect there has been a bit of a falling out..

The question shouldn't have been whether Naismith came on, but who he replaced.
As someone else said, it feels like he's in the bad books after Burnley. If the manager is going to be consistent with that sort of approach, Chong and Mengi should have played their last matches in a Luton shirt today.

We needed Naismith to step out of defence with the ball today. No one else is capable. That would have disrupted their set up, created space by releasing some of our players. But they were comfy & we kept hitting an invisible barrier 30 yards from their goal. Crossing was dreadful, poor choices made & the plethora of show ponies were preening. Mr J.C. Lomax having been called upon to give his opinion upon the proposed formation of a Town Club, said he was most emphatically in favour of a proposed Luton Town Football Club - 11th April 1885

Hit long balls to Morris who is clearly knackered.
It's not that difficult if you are an opposition analyst. Stick two defenders on Morris to stop him winning the header and Luton have no other attacking options.

I think Walsh has been pretty decent lately, today was his worst game for a while. I just can’t see why Mcguinnes is getting picked over Naismith for the life of me.

Agree with that but I think you're being a bit harsh on McGuinness. Thought he was our best defender today by some distance. Agree with your point about Walsh.
Naismith would have been a good option instead of Jones given his illness, Live justly, love mercy, perpetuate generosity, walk humbly.

"I’d have brought him on over Mengi"
I'd have brought on a Blackburn fan picked at random from the away end ahead of Mengi

It was just such an odd sub. Not played in months. Not going to help progress the ball. We didn’t need defensive reinforcements given Blackburn’s level of threat. Hard to understand the thought process of MB on that one.

Yep, utterly bizarre even by the standards of today's selections and subs, and even if he'd played like he looked like he gave the tiniest of shits.

Fair comment. His performance was right up there with Bell as to who looked like they should be wearing a pink shirt.Live justly, love mercy, perpetuate generosity, walk humbly.
