2020 and CEO
Posted by Whhatter on 12/4/2025, 17:07:05
Obviously 2020 saved this football club, which they will never be forgotten for. However, are we as paying fans meant to put up with mediocre football for evermore and just get used to being a yoyo club? I cannot fathom how people can still use the same old excuse of 'they saved our club and without them we wouldn't exist' as that is now wearing thin. What they did will never be forgotten but surely something has to change now. I think the CEO needs to take a back seat I'm a development role at the club because he seems out of his depth. His attitude and arrogance towards the support is obvious to see and it seems as though he thinks he is better than us.

Whilst I'm as annoyed as everyone else with this abject season. For which the top brass are to blame. We also have to have some perspective. My first game was the Littlewoods cup final against Forest and it was down hill from there (a slow slide to the conference) 2020 took over and changed everything, success desire and ultimately the top division. I'm as annoyed as anyone else at how bad we've been this season but financially we're in a better position than we've ever been. Keep the faith COYH.

So we currently have the brightest future we have had for years. New ground; cost covered, even if we end up in league one we will still have parachute payments.
We have had one bad season and you lose your bottle.
Grow up.

Whatever you say.
So who is to blame for no decent transfer funds from January 2024 until now? Absolutely zero interest in investing in the squad to try to stay up in the PL. As long as we have a new home and parachute payments that is enough for you, however we are a Football Club.
Look at all the teams who had new stadiums built and have gone to shit. I thought we didn't want to be in that group.
I pay to watch football and not that shite that was served up today and most of the season.

No interest in investing? What are you on about we have spent more every window in recent times than we have ever before.

You can't spend money in the Premier League and magically stay up. Leicester spent much more than us are in debt and still going down. The answer isn't just throwing money at things.

Surely the style of football is down to the manager? Are the board on the training ground dictating tactics?

Not sure 2020 have done anything terrible. They made mistakes but spending is not one of them. The RE issue was weird but i put that down to misplaced loyalty. Not the worst crime ever. We could be pushing for promotion again from l1 in 12 months

We need a director of football that’s not linked to the club in any way, a total fresh pair of eyes to rebuild the squad along with MB. 2020 have been and hopefully will continue to be the custodian of the club but they need to eat humble pie and admit they can’t do it all and have fucked it up big time. If you had put someone in place to deliberately sabotage the football side of things they couldn’t have done a better job. 2020 have overseen 3 of the worst transfer windows I can remember and especially bad as we were in the strongest position financially and with a global audience fawning over us we’ve ever been in. To go from where we were to this point is an utter failure by 2020 and they deserve all the criticism coming their way, just like they deserved all the praise they lapped up after promotion.

So the director of football picks the players? Another pointless job, alongside set piece coaches. Let the manager manage.

Oh yeah I forgot we do things differently at Luton ( no Billy big bollocks) because we’re so successful and superior to every other club in the world that employs a Director of Football. They’re all wrong and we are right, silly me.

Okay so who were in the same position, spent the same or more money and did better?
We could of spazed some money that January. But if the players were the like of Moses we wouldn't of been any better off.

Or we could have got another gem like Barkley, Lakonga or Christ. Just because others did it and failed doesn’t mean we would have.
Spazzing money on the likes of Moses is the exact reason why we need a Director of Football.
