Makosso

This young man looks a genuine prospect. Of course there is a rawness and certain naivety in certain situations, but his reading of the game, his heading ability and especially his speed at the back(which has been sadly absent this season) will hopefully make him an ever-present despite his inexperience

He’s got to play at the moment as without him we lack any pace in the back 3

I love the way he really attacks the ball and gets real distance on headers. Compare with McGuinness's weak clearance for their goal.

I like how much effort he puts into blocking crosses. So often now all our other defenders stand too far off and allow crosses but he doesn't and it is very refreshing to see.outlaws is not the barometer of sanity.

Mind you he turned his back for their goal last night.

Yeah, Makosso looks a real gem.
And not to unnecessarily put a negative spin on it, but considering how decent he looks, I'm surprised we didn't throw him in sooner as he's a real upgrade on a few other options we persisted with.

I love the fact he actually looks like he enjoys playing football.

Agree, he is what has been missing without Osho or Mengi we have been sooo slow at the back.
If Burke can stay fit I think they would compliment each other.
Unlike most I have my doubts about Naismith he is quality on the ball but has lost a yard or two and will make mistakes because of that.
When a defender loses pace, he is still quick in his head so as we saw last week they go for balls that they use to be able to win you have to learn to be more patient. The one he got sent off for was a stupid challenge that didn't need to be made. If we are going to improve we need young athletic players. This is no season for loving This is the season of pain

In fairness, Niaismith has never been quick and has a mistake in him, mainly due to limited experience playing at the back.
The trade off for that is his composure on the ball and quality standard of his passing. He also has those leadership qualities we have been sorely lacking.
Makosso looks a real prospect but if all defenders are fit, I think a back three of Bell, Naismith and Burke gives us that experience and quality we will need for the run-in.

Naismith, Burke and Makosso would likely see us through to the end of the season strong at the back.
Now just to mix it up and find solution up top to get them firing on all cylinders.

Great long throws from Makosso as well as his speed, tackles well and I like his ability to reduce crossing from the opposition.
