It would have been his 77th Birthday today. One of the unsung players who consistently got 7 out of 10 and put in 100% week in week out.

Fantastic pics and memories in there... Interesting one from Dec '77 playing Mansfield at home - they're wearing our away kit ! Remember that as a kid, bet that hasn't happened since..

I have a feeling Everton had to wear our away kit once during the late 80's though could be completely wrong

John Aston was in the Mansfield team and Mike Saxby was on the bench for them.
1991/92 - One of Matt Jackson's first games for Everton.
Also, Newcastle wore our away kit at KR in 1985/86.

Remember John Aston playing for Mansfield that day in December 1977. The irony was that after he had left us earlier that season ( rumour was he had a "disagreement " with coach Roy McCrohan ) he was quoted as saying " I'll never pull on a Luton Town shirt again !"
