Just reflecting on him.
Such a Jekyll and Hyde reign. Managed us to one of our greatest achievements then sucked the entire soul out of the club. All within 18 months.
Just a really weird tenure and I just can't rationalise that drop off in just about everything, attitude, culture, fitness, performance etc.

This is partly what also confuses me: a lot of people at the club have been around very successful teams and managers. They know what a happy squad looks like and what a decent coach would be doing on the training ground etc.
Were alarm bells not ringing to some people at the club in the summer? I'm not having that everything was fine off the pitch whilst it all burned down around them.

Edwards took over jones team. Once he started to put his tactics, training regime etc etc. We started to lose too easy in the prem.
Then he changed set up to his way, Pre season was the warning. Then the season started and it has been a shit show. We all know he fucked it up. I actually think MB has made the team better, today it was all on kal. Cardiff, lose and we are cut adrift.

One inexperienced league one manager, and 12 million wasted on bang average players later, and we are far worse than we were before.

Edwards was not by any imagination the entire problem. He was my merely the clearly visible poo bag, there is plenty more crap in that bag before we sort this mess out. As many write, a complete reset is needed, players, recruitment, medical, fitness, analysts, board, before we turn this ship around.

Seems to be able to continue momentum and that's about it.
Did well at the for half a season, carrying on previous good results the season before. Wheels fell off second half of the season but they had enough points on the board to go up.
Came in to us and by his own admission didn't change much. Added some positivity and obviously we went up. I do think some of the plaudits went to his head a bit, he spoke a lot last season about how we were trying brave things in the press and Guardiola and Klopp loved it(it because they were beating us). No idea how to change the momentum, poor player recruitment, which he was a part of, and tactically inept.
He's the number 1 reason we are where we are. A charlatan.

Weren't we about 10th when he took over and certainly far from certain of a play off spot. We sealed the play offs with about 4 games to spare. He took us to the next level when Jones pissed off as he'd taken us pretty much to where he could and was running out of steam.
No, Edward's the complete charlatan you're suggesting. But he wasn't able to halt the slide since post Christmas 23. Pre-season was utterly shambolic as was the fitness training/regime.
Yes, Edwards has got his faults but suggesting he fluked his way to promotion is pure bullshit.
