What sort of wages do we think the likes of Eli, Brown and Jones are on?

Jesus christ we're paying 67k a week on 3 players who have mustered just about 7 appearances collectively in the last year.

I hope they've been exaggerated 10 fold. Baptiste and Burke are on about £300k per 90 minutes

I know some people will say they're too high, but honestly, I don't think they're likely to be overly far off the mark.
I reckon our wage bill is around the 25m mark.

The accounts over the next couple of years will make interesting reading. It's pretty obvious its the highest paid squad ever assembled at LTFC and the result is failure.
When we needed to bring some quality PL experience into the squad, we got the brilliant signing of Ross Barkley.
Perhaps the board should have brought someone in that had big PL experience to help them?
Someone to act as a buffer between the manager and board.
Hindsight an all that I suppose.

We obviously haven't got enough experience off field for the jump up to Prem regards recruitment. I'm not having a go, the same lot did brilliantly when were climbing up. It's probably a massive jump from that model though to the Prem/Championship top 6, and this has been quite a bruising learning curve unfortunately.outlaws is not the barometer of sanity.

That's fine. But what's the excuse for this level?
They've built better squads for this level before on far less.

I reckon they've gone into a completely different recruitment arena. One that is probably massively distorted by wanky agents demands and therefore players expectations of wages as well. We were tipped for promotion back to the Prem at the start of the season so we would have had to offer close to the going rate for players believed to be there or thereabouts in that bracket. It seems we've been conned, hence my comment this has unfortunately been quite a bruising learning curve. If NotaBene's post above is even remotely accurate it goes to show why 2020 appear to have been reluctant to spend more. A £25m annual wage bill isn't really sustainable even after the Prem windfall. It's a shame but looks like we're going down and back to where we know the lie of the land a bit better. It's not the end of the world, so long as we don't get any worse, which is always a possibility but hopefully 3rd division is where we steady the ship again and build from there.outlaws is not the barometer of sanity.

Yeah, probably some truth in that.
It definitely feels like there has been a distinct move away from the approach which worked so well before. It's been said a few times before, but it feels incredibly unlikely any of the summer signing last year were on a shortlist of identified players pre summer.
I suspect all the contract lengths have been set to coincide with the end of the parachute money.
Problem is, I bet we were hoping to sell some of them for a profit.
Whereas now I suspect we're stuck with them stinking out League One and winding down their contracts because no one else wants them or will match or better their pay.
