Hi all, just wanted to give an update about my health. I’ve mentioned a few times about feeling depressed and generally not being in a good place. The support I got on here was amazing and definitely shows no matter what opinion people have on here about what is going on with the club when it comes to one of our own having issues mentally that they will have your back. I can’t thank everyone enough. My wife is my biggest rock and I can now say that from where I was 12 months ago to where I am now it feels like a completely different life I’m living. I’ve learnt to not let the little things affect me as they aren’t what are important in life. Also the biggest thing is actually speaking out when you feel like life is just too much. Like most men I found it difficult to talk to someone about my issues and bottled it up inside. This is what really started making me spiral into a dark place. I am now a lot less stressed and find it easier to share my problems and most of the time they aren’t even problems I was just over thinking things. But really thank you all for the support and the good wishes when I did post about my issues. We all may not see eye to eye on the football side of things but when it came to it everything was put to one side and no matter how small the advice I was given definitely helped. Thank you all again.

What a great post. Glad to hear you are feeling a lot better.I think the UK are doing a lot to tackle mental health with its awareness campaign s and support organisations, especially amongst men. The same applies to other health issues such as prostate cancer. Sweden is very poor in comparison.

Thank you for sharing this update. You are right, it is often our Wives or partners that notice first when something is wrong. If you are in a dark place you’ll never see it. If I may share, I broke down at the Doctors after Mrs SH took me 25 odd years ago. I was sat in a chair opposite the Doctor, except my mind saw me standing at an open door watching all this going on. At group therapy a lovely old Gent who made the refreshments said to me: ‘May your today be better than your yesterday. And your tomorrow, better still.’ Stay strong Gary.

Agreed fully. Men do bottle things up and it's a grave mistake. I've been in hospital for a week and it turned into a weeks therapy session just getting everything in perspective. Take care of your loved ones and be kind to all.

I’ve been through hell in my life over the last 15 years from my illness which is diabetes I have been in and out of hospitals for a long time. Believe you me ive and still suffering from depression. This chap Brian is lucky to have an understanding wife and I am glad he is better. Also I haven’t been lucky with women to cap that all I can’t walk to go out and meet somebody as I am in a wheel life can be shit at times and I have had my fair share.
