Hearing from the board today
Posted by Me on 12/11/2024, 10:09:10
What are the chances of this? Do we think they'll come out and communicate something to us today/tomorrow?
And if they're backing Robbie as rumoured, will they put out a statement kind of like Cambridge did - explaining their assessment of the situation and what they plan to do to alleviate it?
Why on earth do the board need to come out and say anything - their only obligations are to the shareholders.
As someone here as mentioned, if someone asked you to point out what mistakes/gains you’d made with your life decisions/ financial decisions and asked you to make it public, you’d tell them to fuck off.
Nobody ever asks aboard to explain all of the correct decisions they make (in our case, mostly 2 decades worth).
And yet the moment it all go’s a tiny bit wrong, we all demand to know why.
Send me all of your financial mistakes you’ve made in your lifetime and I’ll publically comment on what you’ve done right/ wrong.
First, football is a unique industry. It's "nothing without the fans" apparently.
Second, the gaffer sounded like he had practically given up at the weekend. That's why I asked the question. I don't expect them to come out and tell us where their minds are at every time we lose a match, but we are in a relegation battle and the manager has lost faith in himself to do the job.
I think we're right to not give a running commentary on everything. However given the nature of RE post match on Saturday - some clarity would not go a miss
The clubs SM have been dead since the game which tells you something is going on
Are you saying that the shareholders should be kept in the picture by the board? If so, as a member of the Trust, I look forward to hearing current thoughts and information.
Yes. They do it to give customers confidence about the company and the quality of the product. In the past I thought 2020 were exceptional in the way the communicated with fans. They showed how they were fighting for the club. It seems to me that following the ‘billy big bollocks’ speech things seem to deteriorate.
To make it clear that doesn’t mean they still don’t love the club. Lot of people have mentioned putting ‘an arm round the shoulder’. Fans, well I, need that as well. When there is nothing rumours tend to fill the vacuum so making things worse.
